We are an Educational Nonprofit
Research Based

At Idea Hatch we are co-discoverers and co-learners alongside participants. We engage in exploratory learning, using well-researched methods of inquiry and interaction. Informal Exploratory Play is a proven catalyst for continued learning. Research shows that hands-on engagement empowers, and that using professional tools increases the likelihood of children entering STEM careers. While science, technology, engineering, and math are experiences, insight comes from reflection and expression in art. Because of this, we incorporate the arts, including painting, writing, sculpting, and theater.

IDEA Centered

Idea Hatch is firmly committed to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access. We have taken Diversity and Inclusion training, and have analyzed our organization through the lens of IDEA. Because we are a mobile unit, we are able to bring STEAM to under-served communities that would not otherwise have access. In these communities, exploratory play with STEAM that includes family and neighbors, is more likely to result in diverse youth choosing STEM careers. Because our events are in neighborhood venues, friends and families explore STEAM together, which ultimately leads to greater diversity in the STEM workforce. We are proud to bring STEAM to 46 under-served communities, including the most under-served areas in seven counties.
